Liveaboard.com is looking for freelance translators to translate from English maintaining the original text meaning, format, and tone, to the following languages:

• German
• Dutch
• Portuguese (Brazillian)

Assignments include but aren’t limited to product descriptions, blog posts, articles, as well as marketing materials (brochures, vouchers, videos, etc.). Ultimately, you will provide ready-to-use translated content that meets our internal needs and helps us reach a broader audience. The ideal candidate must be a native speaker, preferably living in the country in which the target language is spoken.

The content is not technical, however, scuba diving knowledge is needed, as well as knowledge of some basic boating/sailing terminology, and marine species names.

This role is exclusively on a freelance and remote basis - fees will be calculated based on the number of words in the original language text. Typically, between 5,000 and 10,000 words per month. When applying, please provide your per word rate.

Responsibilities

• Provide quotations for translation services offered
• Read through the original material and translate it into the target language while ensuring translated content conveys original meaning and tone
• Proofread translated texts for grammar, spelling, and punctuation accuracy
• Edit content to maintain its original format (e.g. font and structure)
• Use specialist dictionaries, thesauruses and/or reference books to find the closest equivalents for terminology and words used (i.e. basic boating/sailing terminology, marine species names)
• Follow up with team members and clients to ensure translation meets company requirements
